Florida Center for Functional Medicine wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use our website and get the information they need about our practice. We are working to make the site accessible and easy to use for all visitors.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content more usable for people with a wide range of disabilities, including vision, hearing, mobility, and cognitive disabilities.
What we have done
- Semantic structure. Pages use proper headings, landmarks, and lists so screen readers and other assistive technologies can navigate them.
- Keyboard navigation. Links, menus, and other controls can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Reduced motion. If you have turned on your device's "reduce motion" setting, the site limits animation and movement.
- Color contrast. We choose text and background colors with enough contrast to be readable, and we do not rely on color alone to convey meaning.
- Text alternatives. Meaningful images include text descriptions; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
Known limitations
Our contact page includes an embedded map provided by Google Maps. Because this map comes from a third party, we cannot fully control its accessibility, and it may be difficult to use with some assistive technologies. Our address is always listed in text on the same page, and you can call us for directions.
Some content may not yet meet every guideline. If you run into a problem, please let us know.
