Root-CauseFunctional Medicine
In-depth consults that map your history, symptoms and labs into one clear plan.
Learn moreAt the Florida Center for Functional Medicine, we look past the label to find why you feel the way you do — then build a plan around your biology, your labs, and your life.
Select a concern to see the common root causes we investigate and how a care plan typically unfolds.
Persistent fatigue is rarely "just stress." We look for the metabolic, hormonal and nutritional drivers that drain your energy at the cellular level.
A basic TSH and blood count. If results come back "normal," you're often told to rest more or offered an antidepressant.
We look for the root causes, such as:
From perimenopause to low testosterone, hormone shifts affect mood, sleep, weight and libido. We test comprehensively and treat precisely.
Symptoms are often treated one at a time (birth control, sleep aids or antidepressants), usually without full hormone testing.
We look for the root causes, such as:
Your gut influences immunity, mood and inflammation. We identify imbalances in the microbiome and repair the gut lining from the inside out.
Often labeled IBS and managed with antacids or laxatives, without testing what's driving it.
We look for the root causes, such as:
When diet and exercise stop working, metabolism needs a closer look. We address the hormonal and inflammatory roadblocks to sustainable weight loss.
"Eat less and move more," usually without testing the hormones and metabolism behind stubborn weight.
We look for the root causes, such as:
Brain fog is a signal of inflammation, nutrient gaps or hormonal change. Clearing it often starts far from the brain.
Often put down to stress or aging, and sometimes treated with stimulants.
We look for the root causes, such as:
Quality sleep is foundational to every system. We investigate what's disrupting your rhythm instead of reaching straight for a sleeping pill.
Often a prescription sleep aid, without looking into why you're waking up.
We look for the root causes, such as:
Hashimoto's, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis and more share common triggers. We work to calm the immune response and reduce flares.
Often monitored until damage is advanced, then managed with immune-suppressing medication.
We look for the root causes, such as:
Skin and hair often mirror what's happening inside. We connect the dots between gut, hormones, nutrients and inflammation.
Creams, antibiotics or steroids applied to the surface.
We look for the root causes, such as:
Chronic inflammation is a common thread behind joint pain and many long-term conditions. We find and remove what's fueling the fire.
Pain relievers and anti-inflammatories to dull the symptoms day to day.
We look for the root causes, such as:
Longevity medicine is about adding healthy years. We measure where you are today and build a proactive plan for decades ahead.
Screening for disease after it appears, using standard ranges that can flag problems late.
We look for the root causes, such as:
Conventional care is excellent at naming a condition. Functional medicine goes a layer deeper — to the systems and lifestyle factors that set it in motion.
A 10–15 minute appointment focused on the most pressing complaint.
Basic panels that flag disease, but "normal" ranges can miss early dysfunction.
Medication may quiet the symptom while the underlying driver keeps going.
Care resumes when new symptoms appear, rather than tracking progress.
A 60-minute first visit maps your history, timeline, environment and goals.
Advanced hormone, gut, nutrient and inflammatory panels, read against optimal ranges rather than just "normal."
Nutrition, targeted supplements, hormone support and lifestyle medicine aimed at the root cause.
Regular follow-ups and re-testing to adjust your plan as you heal.
Every service is part of a personalized plan — never a one-size-fits-all protocol.

(954) 495-2855Functional medicine is a systems-based approach that looks for the underlying causes of illness. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, we evaluate how nutrition, hormones, the gut, genetics, environment and lifestyle interact — and build a personalized plan from there.
We are an out-of-network practice. Many patients use HSA/FSA funds, and we provide superbills you can submit for possible reimbursement. Most standard labs can be billed to your insurance.
We complement — not replace — your primary care. Our longer visits, advanced testing and focus on root causes are designed for complex or persistent concerns. We're happy to coordinate with your existing physicians.
Yes. Patients located in Florida can complete most visits by secure video. Some services, such as IV therapy and certain exams, require an in-office visit.
Every patient is different. Many notice meaningful improvements within the first 8–12 weeks, while complex conditions may take longer. We re-test and adjust along the way so you can see your progress.
